Lief, Tilton Rake in Weekly NCAC Honors

First-year Akwia Tilton and sophomore Brian Lief were each named North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete-of-the-Week for their respective performances at last weekend's Kenyon College Invitational, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Leading the charge on the women's side was Tilton, who garnered three blue ribbons on the day en route to the conference's weekly nomination under the Sprints/Hurdles category. The first-year started off with a winning leap of 16 feet, 9.75 inches in the long jump before clocking in winning times of 12.72 in the 100 meters and 26.35 in the 200.

On the men's side, Lief was nominated under the Distance category for his winning performance in the 800, as he crossed the finish line at 1:58.34 – over three seconds faster than the second-place competitor.

The College of Wooster men's track and field team won the seven-team invite with a team score of 146.5 points while the women placed second with 112.
