Webster Garners Three All-Region Certificates

Carolyn Webster

Sophomore Carolyn Webster, who will represent The College of Wooster women's track team at this weekend's NCAA Div. III Track & Field Championships, earned three All-Great Lakes Region certificates for her performance this outdoor season, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday.

Webster garnered the regional accolades in the high jump, long jump, and heptathlon. To qualify for USTFCCCA all-region honors, a student-athlete must rank in the top-five in an individual event, or the top-three in a relay event in the final TFRRS report.

In the high jump, Webster peaked at the right time, eclipsing 5 feet, 7.75—a personal record—during last week's All-Ohio Great Lakes Elite competition at Delaware, Ohio. Currently, Webster's mark stands tied for second in the region and tied for fifth in NCAA Div. III.

During the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships in early May, Webster came away with a trio of all-conference laurels. With a third-place finish in the long jump, she went 18 feet, 3.25 inches, ranking top-five in the region, before garnering a second-place haul in the high jump (5 feet, 5.25 inches). During the NCAC Multi-Event Championships the week prior, Webster claimed runner-up honors in the heptathlon, finishing with 4,059 points for another top-five regional standing.

Webster caps the season on Friday, May 26 at the NCAA Div. III Championships taking place at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The high jump is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Webster is seeded fifth in the event.
