The College of Wooster women's track and field team won three events on the day, including two in jumps as the Fighting Scots placed fifth at the 10-team Kenyon College Classic at Gambier, Ohio on Saturday afternoon. The men's team added a runner-up and two third-place finishes, and placed seventh.    

Wooster's women's team scooped up a good chunk of its 70 points in the jumps and relays as the Scots placed in the top two in both the 4x200 and 4x400, and had two scorers in the high jump, long jump, and triple jump.

Junior Carolyn Webster led the way among the jumpers with the winning mark of 16 feet, 8.75 inches in the long jump, and she garnered runner-up honors in the high jump with a clearance of 5 feet, 3 inches. Webster's contributions didn't stop there as the junior's 9.40 in the 55-meter hurdles was good for fourth-place, and she was eighth in the shot put with a heave of 29 feet, 2.5 inches.

Senior Elizabeth Obi continued her fine season with a first-place mark of 34 feet, 9 inches in the triple jump, and she also scored in the high jump with a third-place clearance of 4 feet, 11 inches.

Junior Mallory Crane picked up key points with fifth-place efforts in the long jump (14 feet, 11.25 inches) and the triple jump (32 feet, 2.25 inches).

Wooster's other blue ribbon effort was turned in by juniors Erika Womack and Julia Higgins, first-year Emma Sullivan, and sophomore Korri Palmer, who teamed up to turn in a 1:54.21 in the 4x200 relay. Higgins and Womack both ran on the meet-closing 4x400 relay, where they joined up with first-year Zoe Covey and junior Emani Kelley to log the second-place time of 4:19.26.

Likewise to the women's relays, the men had a lot of success, starting with the 4x200, where juniors Justin Fox, Jack Petrecca, Myles Parker, and Jordan Dennis strung together a 1:36.24 for runner-up honors. Noteworthy, the quartet missed out on the top spot by under :02.

Parker and Petrecca carried over the relay succes to the 4x400, as the duo, plus classmate Brian Lief, and sophomore Aedan Pettit checked in third at 3:35.87.

Petrecca picked up big points for Wooster in the high jump, where his clearance of 6 feet, 2 inches placed him in a tie for third-place, and he snared the final scoring spot in the 400 meters at 53.86.

Wooster's distance group turned in several noteworthy performances with junior Jackson Feinknopf's third-place time of 9:10.47 in the 3000 meters leading the way. In the 5000 meters, senior William Koenig contributed to the scoring column with an eighth-place time of 16:50.74.

Elsewhere on the weekend, Wooster's throwers competed at Findlay University where junior Kassady Murphy (31 feet, 6.75 inches) and sophomore Spencer Wilson (46 feet, 4.75 inches) logged personal-bests in the shot put and weight throw respectively.

Up next, Wooster travels to Denison University for the Denison Last Chance meet on Friday, Feb. 23.
