Scots Compete at Denison Last Chance Meet

The College of Wooster men's and women's track & field teams competed at the non-scoring Denison Last Chance Meet on Friday evening at in Granville, Ohio, with junior David Westcott and sophomore Spencer Wilson taking home respective top-three finishes.

Westcott placed third in the 3,000 meters (9:15.69) while Wilson went 43 feet, 10.5 inches in the shot put to place third. Wilson went on to place ninth in the weight throw with a best try of 45 feet, 5.25 inches.

Junior Simon Weyer turned in an 800 meters clip of 2:06.60, good for fourth place, while first-year Reaghan Beaver and classmate Christine Weber wrapped up Wooster's other top-eight finishers. Beaver went 5:53.98 in the mile to place eighth while Weber turned in a fourth-place leap of 12 feet, .25 inches in the long jump. Weber also placed eighth in the shot put (32 feet, 3 inches) and 12th in the weight throw (29 feet, 7.5 inches).

Up next, Wooster opens competition on Saturday, Feb. 24 at the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Pentathlon/Heptathlon at Denison University.
