Sophomore Carolyn Webster finished as the North Coast Athletic Conference's runner-up in the pentathlon by a tight five-point margin, and in doing so garnered her ninth-career (fifth indoor) all-conference certificate, to lead the way among a quartet of competitors from The College of Wooster track & field program at this weekend's NCAC Multi-Event Championships held at Denison University in Granville, Ohio.

Webster, who upped her career-high in points in the pentathlon to 3,150 – a total currently in the top-30 in Div. III – stood out from the field of 11 in the high jump and shot put. In the high jump, Webster topped out at 5 feet, 5.25 inches, the top mark in the field, while in the shot put, Webster's 30 feet, 7 inches was the second-best mark, and was just off a personal-best of 31 feet, 3.5 inches. Notable, Webster's high jump currently places her in the top 15 in Div. III.

The junior also ranked second in the long jump, with a top leap of 16 feet, 7 inches.

On the men's side, junior Jordan Dennis placed fifth in the heptathlon, and his 3,782 points were within 62 of Conor Maley's school-record in the event. Dennis placed third in a pair of events, including the 60-meter hurdles, where he lowered his school-record in the event to 8.83. He cleared 5 feet, 7.75 inches in the high jump, which also ranked as the third-best mark among the 12 competitors.

First-years Jena Copley and Drake Pence also represented the Scots at the competition. Copley saved her best effort for last as the rookie's 2:31.87 in the 800 meters ranked as the second-fastest time in the field. Pence's shot put mark of 39 feet, 1.25 inches was the second-best in the field, and his 7.33 in the 60-meter dash was fourth.
