Juniors Carolyn Webster and Jack Petrecca garnered individual All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors while the women's 4x400 team took home third place and the program's second 4x400 all-conference certificate in three years to highlight the final day of action on Saturday at the 2018 NCAC Indoor Championships, hosted by Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind.
The Fighting Scots' men's team placed eighth of nine teams with 28 points while the women's team placed fifth of eight with 52 points. Oberlin College won the women's meet with 197.50 points while Ohio Wesleyan University won the men's side with 140 points.
On the women's side, Webster reached 17 feet, 8.25 inches in the long jump for a second-place finish before claiming third place in the high jump (5 feet, 2.25 inches). Notably, Webster's all-conference total now stands at 11. Wooster tacked on additional top-eight leaps in each event, marked by a sixth-place finish from sophomore Akwia Tilton in the long jump (16 feet) and a seventh-place try from senior Elizabeth Obi in the high jump (5 feet, .25 inches).
For the men, Petrecca garnered second place in the high jump – his first indoor all-conference honor and second overall of his career – with a clear at 6 feet, 5 inches before scratching out at 6 feet, 7 inches.
The women's 4x400 team edged Wittenberg by 1.4 seconds, as the quartet of junior Erika Womack, junior Julia Higgins, junior Emani Kelley, and sophomore Tilton took home all-NCAC honors with a third-place time of 4:14.68, the Scots' fastest time of the year so far.
After a Friday prelim time of 9.84 in the 60-meter hurdles, Webster advanced to Saturday's championship heat, where she placed seventh (9.75).
In the men's pole vault, senior Jacob Nowell (12 feet, 6 inches) placed sixth. In the men's 4x200 relay, the quartet of junior Jordan Dennis, junior Myles Parker, first-year Drake Pence, and junior Justin Fox came in sixth-place with a time of 1:35.04. In the women's relay, the Scot contingent of Womack, sophomore Korri Palmer, Higgins, and Tilton placed fifth at 1:49.67.
Additionally, Wooster's men's 4x400 relay team of Petrecca, sophomore Aedan Pettit, Parker, and junior Brian Lief placed fifth with a time of 3:34.90.
