Tilton Sprints Way to Second Career NCAC Weekly Honor

The College of Wooster's Akwia Tilton garnered her second career North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete-of-the-Week award, as the sophomore earned the league's weekly honor for sprinters and hurdlers, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Tilton delivered a series of strong performances in the Fighting Scots' first outdoor meet of the season to lead the way at the non-scored Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Tilton placed 36th in the 100-meter dash (12.80) and 38th in the 200-meter dash (26.44), and both times currently rank in the top 40 in Div. III.

Tilton anchored the Scots' 4x400 relay that clocked in at 4:15.56, a time currently 35th in Div. III. She also competed in the long jump and logged a mark of 16 feet, 4.5 inches in the event.

Tilton was previously a NCAC Athlete-of-the-Week on April 24, 2017.

The Scots are back in action at their own Wooster Invitational, held March 30-31.
