Sophomore Akwia Tilton was named North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week under the Sprints/Hurdles category, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

The weekly award marks Tilton's third career nod and second of the season. Tilton competed at the Denison Invitational on Friday and left Granville, Ohio with two runner-up finishes and a first-place claim in the 200 meters.

In the 200, the dual-sport student-athlete clocked in at 26.58 – over .80 seconds faster than the second-place finisher – for top honors. In the 100, Tilton ran a 13.13 to finish as runner-up behind NCAA Div. II Ohio Dominican's Bryanna Barber.

Lastly, Tilton came up .25 inches short of a first-place claim in the long jump after reaching 16 feet, 5.75 inches, a quarter-inch shy of Wittenberg's Alexis Johnson.

Up next, the Fighting Scots gear up for this weekend's NCAC Championships, hosted by Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa.
