Scots Compete in Pair of Last-Chance Qualifying Meets

Select student-athletes from The College of Wooster track and field teams competed in a pair of last-chance meets in hopes of qualifying for next week's NCAA Div. III Championships.

Last week, Wooster competed in the Harrison Dillard Twilight Invite at Baldwin Wallace University, highlighted by a first-place finish from junior David Westcott in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:34.21). Classmate Brian Lief took third-place in the 1,500 with a time of 4:17.25 and junior Carolyn Webster placed fifth in the high jump (5 feet, 5.25 inches).

On Friday, the Fighting Scots took part in the Great Lakes Final Qualifying Meet in Delaware, Ohio. Webster placed fourth in the high jump (5 feet, 3.75 inches) and sophomore Spencer Wilson took home a sixth-place finish in the discus with a throw of 143 feet, 1 inch.
