Recent graduate Geoffrey Carney-Knisely of The College of Wooster men's cross country and track & field teams was voted first-team Google Cloud Academic All-District® by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for District 7, the organization announced Tuesday.

This year's announcement marks the second consecutive all-district honor for Carney-Knisely, who last year went on to earn third-team Academic All-America® status. With a 4.0 GPA as a double-major in biochemistry & molecular biology and sociology, Carney-Knisely will now be placed on the ballot for Academic All-America® consideration.

Noted as a top-seven runner for the College's cross country team, Carney-Knisely turned in a personal-best time of 26:43.8 over the 8,000-meter course at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships to place 32nd overall.

Within NCAA Div. III District 7 (Illinois, Indiana, Ohio) just 12 student-athletes were honored by CoSIDA, with Carney-Knisely being one of two NCAC representatives.
