First-year William McMichael sprinted his way to the North Coast Athletic Conference's Player of the Week honor for sprints and hurdles events, as the league office selected The College of Wooster rookie on Monday for his winning time in the 200 meters at Saturday's Kenyon College Spring Invitational.

McMichael's 23.45 was just a second off his career best time set a week prior at the Div. III All-Ohio Championships, but it was good for the top time in the 12-competitor field on Saturday.

Later in the meet, McMichael steered the 4x400 relay to the finish as the anchor leg for the runner-up quartet that finished at 3:27.73.

McMichael, and his Wooster teammates, are back in action at Friday's Denison University Invitational. Field events start at 1:30 p.m. with track events to follow at 6 p.m.
