Three Champions and an NCAC Record After First Day of NCAC Championships

GAMBIER – The College of Wooster track and field teams collected a trio of titles Friday in the opening day of the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Kenyon College.

King Jeju continued to impress in his first-year campaign, this time winning the long jump at 23 feet, 7.25 inches. While it didn't beat his school record, it did take down the NCAC record at 23 feet, 6.5 inches which was set by Denison's Scott Shorney back in 1988.

Now, Jeju is the only Fighting Scot in the NCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships record book.

He will look to make more noise Saturday. Jeju qualified for the finals Saturday in the 200 meters, after finishing first in the prelims at 22.29 seconds, and the 60 meters, running a 6.93 for second.

Callender formed about a five second separation from second place.
