Ellie Jindra

Ellie Jindra, a four-time All-American high jumper at Ashland University, joined The College of Wooster in September 2021 as an assistant cross country and track & field coach. She works closely with recruiting efforts, the jumps group, and the cross country team.

Jindra's first season saw immediate success with high jumper Claudia Partridge qualifying for the indoor and outdoor NCAA Div. III Championships, winning the North Coast Athletic Conference title during the indoor season, and breaking the indoor program record in the event. Partridge qualified for the NCAA Div. III Championships for the third time in 2023. Wooster's high, long, and triple jumpers, multi-event athletes, and cross country runners have earned 22 all-conference honors during her tenure.

Jindra arrived in Wooster following an eighth-place showing in the high jump at the 2021 NCAA Div. II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. She cleared 5 feet, 6.5 inches at the 2019 NCAA Div. II Outdoor Championships and 5 feet, 8.5 inches at the 2019 NCAA Div. II Indoor Championships, placing fifth and sixth, respectively. Jindra’s fourth All-America honor came in 2020, following the cancelation of the 2020 NCAA Div. II Indoor Championships.

Elsewhere, the high jump and triple jump standout earned six U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region honors, was a three-time Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference high jump champion, was a four-time all-conference performer, and earned eight GLIAC All-Academic honors. She cleared a collegiate-best 5 feet, 9.25 inches en route to winning the high jump at the 2019 GLIAC indoor meet, while her outdoor best of 5 feet, 8.75 inches came at the 2019 GLIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

While in college, Jindra was a counselor and intern at Camp Canadensis and was a sales associate at DICK’s Sporting Goods. Jindra graduated with a bachelor’s in sport management.
