Wingen Represents Wooster on All-NCAC Team

2011-12 All-NCAC Team

For the second straight year, College of Wooster junior Jessica Wingen was selected to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Team, as she once again garnered an honorable mention pick, the league office announced Monday.

Wingen paced the Scots in several statistical categories in 2011-12, which included her league-leading 8.2 rebounds per game. She also ranked second in the NCAC in blocked shots (2.4 bpg), and was 14th in scoring (10.8 ppg), which all were career-highs.

The 6-1 center had some of her best offensive outings against conference opponents, including a season-high 21 points at Hiram College Dec. 3, as well as 19 points against Denison University Jan. 31.

She also tied the school record for blocks in a game with eight against Bluffton University Dec. 3, and had another six at Oberlin College Feb. 3. For her career, Wingen is now up to 126 blocked shots, which currently stands at fourth all-time in school history.
