Anna Gibbs

Junior guard Anna Gibbs was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week as part of a perfect 2-0 week for The College of Wooster women's basketball team.

The Fighting Scots (6-17, 4-10 NCAC) defeated Allegheny College 66-53 on Wednesday before coming back from 14 points down in the final 5:56 against Ohio Wesleyan University to win 68-65 on Saturday.

Gibbs averaged 18.0 points, 7.5 assists, and 3.5 steals on the week, marked by a co-season-high 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting against the Gators.

On Saturday, Gibbs scored a team-high 15 points and dished eight helpers, including the go-ahead assist off a steal with 1:08 remaining.

The honor marks a career-first for the All-NCAC guard as Wooster solidified a seventh-place seeding in the NCAC Tournament -- its highest position since the 2009-10 season -- with the quarterfinal rounds scheduled to tipoff on Tuesday, Feb. 20.
