Women Fall Short on the Road to Ohio Wesleyan

DELAWARE, Ohio – The College of Wooster women's basketball team couldn't find a split in the season series with Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday, falling on the road 84-32.

First-year Harley Holloway came off the bench to lead the Scots with seven points. Junior Krista English added six in her first start, and senior Maria Janasko added five.

Wooster struggled to find its shot, shooting just 16 percent (10-of-64) from the floor and six percent (1-of-17) from deep. They also shot 52 percent from the foul line (11-of-21).

Ohio Wesleyan had a lot go right as Kasey Schipfer led with a game-high 20 points and added 11 rebounds for the double-double.

Lauren Denison added 17 points, Cierra Joiner scored 16 and Lauren Campbell came off the bench to record a game-high 15 rebounds. The team shot 46 percent (32-of-69) for the game and 29 percent (7-of-24) from 3-point range.

The Battling Bishops outrebounded the Scots 66-35, and scored the game's first 24 points.

Ohio Wesleyan moves to 6-2, while Wooster drops to 0-6.

Wooster will close out its season with two games against Hiram. The first game is 7 p.m. Friday in Timken Gymnasium.
