HIRAM, Ohio -- The College of Wooster women's basketball team concluded its season Saturday with a 68-58 loss to Hiram College.

Senior Sarah Marion was one-point shy of her career high, leading the Scots with 16 points on 6-of-18 shooting. She was also one rebound shy of a double-double.

First-year Harley Holloway followed up her career-night with 15 points. Senior Maria Janasko tallied five points and had a game-high 15 rebounds, while Masani Francis recorded eight points and seven rebounds.

Tashauna Wright once again led the way for the Terriers (2-0) with 17 points. Selena Vargas came off the bench to record a double-double at 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Wooster started the game with back-to-back baskets from Francis and Holloway and led 6-3 after a layup from senior Austrella Balley. However, once Hiram tied it with a 3-pointer, that sparked a 13-1 run that lasted to until the end of the first as Hiram took a 16-7 lead.

Wooster never saw the lead again. They caught some momentum toward the end of the second quarter, trailing by five with 1:29 left. Yet, a mistake gave Hiram a buzzer beater basket that capped a 6-0 run for them to lead 32-21 at halftime.

Hiram grew its lead to 49-35 at the end of the third quarter. Wooster again played some its best basketball in the fourth, putting up 23 points in the quarter and cutting the deficit by four.

Wooster shot 33 percent (22-of-66), while Hiram followed at 32 percent (24-of-74). Both teams shot about 20 percent from beyond the arc and were above 60 percent from the charity stripe.

Hiram outrebounded Wooster 51-49, outscored the Scots in the paint 32-24 and in bench points 24-8.

Wooster wraps the year at 0-8. They say farewell to seniors Marion, Janasko and Balley.
