Scots Fall to Quakers 88-55
Holloway leads squad with 19 points
WILMINGTON, Ohio -- The College of Wooster women's basketball team lost to Wilmington College 88-55 on Tuesday.
Sophomore Harley Holloway tied for a game-high 19 points. Classmate Alyssa Chritz was the only other Scot in double figures with 11 points. She also had a team-high six rebounds.
Wilmington held Wooster scoreless for the first 3:20 of the game until a 3-pointer from Chritz made it a 9-3 game. Yet, Wooster struggled to get much of a footing under them as they found themselves trailing 25-10 after the first quarter.
Wilmington kept the pressure on in the second and third quarters, leading 49-22 at halftime and 76-38 after three quarters.
Wooster finally reversed its fortunes by taking the fourth quarter 17-12. Holloway scored six of her points in the quarter. Krista English and Melissa Burtscher each added four.
Both English and Burtscher finished with five points.
Wooster shot 33 percent (16-of-49) to Wilmington's 49 percent (33-of-67). Wilmington also outrebounded Wooster 45-29.
Wilmington moves to 2-2 overall, while Wooster drops to 1-5. Wooster will look to get back in the win column on Dec. 1 when they open North Coast Athletic Conference play at Denison University.
