Despite only fielding a four-person team due to fall break, The College of Wooster women's golfers took third-place at the five-team, single-round Mount Union Fall Invitational, held at Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance, Ohio, on Sunday.

Wooster's 346 was just four shots behind the runner-up and nine off of the champion's pace, host University of Mount Union (337), both of which fielded full teams. The Fighting Scots were well ahead – 20-plus strokes – of the fourth-place and fifth-place finishers.

The trio of Hannah Buzolits, Sharmeen Chinoy, and Emily Howerton all ranked among the top-10 individually for the third consecutive tournament. Buzolits and Howerton carded matching 84s under the chilly and windy conditions at the par-72, 5800-yard course to tie for fourth-place out of the 33 competitors. Chinoy was just two off their pace via an 86, tying for ninth.

Wooster's other starter, Alyssa Gilbert, also was among the top-half of the field, coming in 16th with a 92.

The Scots will be part of a national-caliber field while wrapping up the fall portion of their schedule at Wittenberg University's Pat Clouse Invitational next weekend.
