The College of Wooster women's golf team got its busy spring break swing underway with a tri-match Monday, and with a 474 score, the Fighting Scots finished in between NCAA Div. I Savannah State University (433) and Div. II East Stroudsburg University (511). The single-day event took place at Savannah State's home course, Crosswinds Golf Club, in sunny and warm Savannah, Ga.

A challenging par-72, 6,159-yard course, plus playing competitively for the first time in several months resulted in slightly higher scores than normal for several Fighting Scots, however, they still finished comfortably ahead – 37 strokes – of the Div. II Warriors. The two squads will both be part of another tri-match on Thursday.

Three of Wooster's starters scored in the low 90s – Sharmeen Chinoy (91), Emily Howerton (92), and Hannah Buzolits (93) – as did its lone individual competitor – Victoria Roney (93). Chinoy sported the lowest score of non-Div. I golfers and was fifth overall out of the 18 participants.

Also contributing to the Scots' team score was Mallorey Stack with a 98 and teammate Alyssa Gilbert was right behind her with an even 100.
