Emily Howerton (81), Hannah Buzolits (83) and Victoria Roney (83) each shot their lowest rounds of the spring on Sunday, helping The College of Wooster to a fourth-place standing through the initial 36 holes of the North Coast Athletic Conference Golf Championship Series, hosted by Kenyon College at the Apple Valley Golf Club in Howard, Ohio, this weekend.

The Fighting Scots started slow, carding a 362 during Saturday's round, but they improved by 27 strokes on Sunday (335), which has them in fourth-place with a 697 – 13 ahead of fifth-place Ohio Wesleyan University (710). On top of the leaderboard are nationally-ranked Wittenberg University (628) and DePauw University (651), with Denison University in third at 668.

Howerton and Buzolits tied with 89's in their opening rounds across the par-72, 5,287-yard course, but Howerton was better Sunday, as she recorded the fourth-lowest second-day score (81) on her way to a 170.

Buzolits was right behind with an 83 for a 172 total, while Roney compiled her finest 36 holes of the season with a 177, which came from Saturday's 94 and a breakout 83 on Sunday.

Just one stroke behind Roney was Mallorey Stack, who shot a 178 (90-88), while Wooster's usual leader, Sharmeen Chinoy, labored through an uncharacteristic 200 (105-95).

With several golfers peaking at the right time, and Chinoy a good bet to rebound, the Scots will look to make a run at third-place Denison when the NCAC Golf Championship Series continues next weekend at the Springfield Country Club in Springfield, Ohio.
