Wooster Turns in Another Quality Round Against Div. I Competition

 Victoria Roney

The College of Wooster women's golf team had another strong showing, and was right there with The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, at Patriots Point Links in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. on Tuesday. Wooster finished six strokes back of the Div. I program's round of 333.

Sharmeen Chinoy placed second overall at 79, one stroke back of medalist Cameron Little from The Citadel. The 79 tied Chinoy's lowest competition round this year. She previously carded a 79 in the first round of the Ohio Wesleyan University Fall Invitational back on Sept. 12, 2015.

Hannah Buzolits tied for fourth at 84, marking a two-shot improvement from last week's competition round against Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

Victoria Roney and Emily Howerton finished in sixth and seventh place respectively with rounds of 87 and 89. Mallorey Stack rounded out the lineup with a 93.

Jennie Blosser competed as an individual and matched her career-best collegiate round with a 93.

The course, one of Charleston's signature courses, features panoramic views of the historic city, Fort Sumter, and Charleston's international port. Of note, the signature par-3 17th hole challenges golfers with harbor winds gusting in competitors faces, much like the world-famous Pebble Beach Golf Links.

Wooster returns to action on April 9 at the OWU Laura Bump Invitational held at the Mill Creek Golf Club in Ostrander, Ohio.
