The College of Wooster women's golf team one-upped last week Thursday's win over a Div. II program, as the Fighting Scots topped Div. I Savannah State University 342-347 on Monday afternoon at the Crosswinds Golf Club in Savannah, Ga.

Wooster's Nos. 4 and 5 positions led the way as senior Mallorey Stack captured medalist honors with an 82, one shot better than Savannah State's Rachele Orme. First-year Hannah Appleman played a big role in the win with an 84 out of the No. 5 spot. Notable, Stack's 82 tied for her second-lowest collegiate round of her career while Appleman's 84 marked her best round for the Fighting Scots.

Wooster's top of the lineup turned in a solid all-around afternoon as well as senior Hannah Buzolits shot an 86 to pair with two 90s from classmate Emily Howerton and junior Victoria Roney.

In fact, Wooster had three 90s on the day as first-year Kaci Carpenter turned that in on her card while playing as an individual.

First-year Emily Stoehr rounded out the competitors for the Scots with a 123.

Wooster opens the northern portion of its spring slate at Ohio Wesleyan University's Laura Bump Invitational on April 8.
