The College of Wooster women's golf team jumped forward one position after the conclusion of Sunday's round of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships series at The Country Club of Meadville in Meadville, Pa., as the Fighting Scots remain eight strokes ahead of Denison University in third-place heading into next weekend's final two rounds at Royal American Links in Galena, Ohio.

Wooster closed day one at 336, good for fourth-place behind Denison, DePauw University, and Wittenberg University, before following up with a second-day 333 to leap ahead of the Big Red and sit among the top three. The Tigers of Wittenberg currently sit atop the leaderboard at 640, followed by the Tigers of DePauw at 669.

Senior Hannah Buzolits, who is coming off runner-up honors at the Scots' own invite last weekend, posted a two-day score of 157, bolstered by Sunday's 77 to move into third-place in the individual standings.

Staying consistent was junior Victoria Roney, who posted a first-round 82 before closing the weekend with an 83, as she stands tied for ninth-place individually at 165. Not far behind is senior Emily Howerton, who turned in final scores of 84 and 86 on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, while first-year Hannah Appleman wraps up the Fighting Scots in the top-20, as she finished the opening week with a 177, led by an 87 on Sunday.

Sitting at 185 is senior Mallorey Stack, who went 93 on Saturday and 92 on Sunday.

Wooster concludes the two-weekend conference championship series on April 29-30, with the second leg hosted by Denison.
