Siewert Captures Third NCAC Weekly Award this Year

Ally Siewert, Wooster Golf Ally Siewert's dominant performance that had The College of Wooster women's golf team in contention with three-time defending North Coast Athletic Conference champion Denison University at Sunday's Denison Spring Shootout earned the Fighting Scots' standout junior a third conference athlete of the week award for the season on Tuesday morning.

Siewert's collegiate-best 76 was a 3-over-par round, as Denison Golf Club plays as a par-73 for NCAA Div. III women's tournaments. Siewert worked her score back to even par through 12 after playing holes eight through 12 at 3-under-par. The junior rolled in back-to-back birdies on the par-4, 327-yard 11th hole and the par-5, 423-yard 12th hole. Siewert turned at 2-over-par and was 1-over-par on the back nine. She moved into a tie with senior Melissa Burtscher for the most top-five finishes in a season in program history at eight.

Wooster was within two strokes of Denison at the turn and the Scots caught the Big Red on hole 15.

Wooster's competing at the NCAC Championships this week, with Westfield Country Club serving as the host course from May 3-5.
