In one of the most lopsided wins in program history, The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team peppered Waynesburg University with 20 goals, and recorded a rare shutout on the defensive end in the process, en route to a 20-0 victory Tuesday afternoon at Waynesburg, Pa.

The win, which was Wooster's (1-2) first of the year, tied the school record for its largest win margin (20) which was set in a 26-6 win over Oberlin College on April 10, 2008. It was also the Scots' first shutout since 2002, when they blanked St. Vincent College 12-0.

It became apparent early that Wooster was headed for a big day offensively, as they amassed an 11-0 cushion less than 10 minutes into the action. More impressively, nine of those 11 goals were scored by different players, including one by freshman Cassie Greenbaum – the first of her career. The Scots slowed the pace after taking a commanding lead, and added just two more goals in the first half to take a 13-0 lead at the break.

In the second half, Wooster had some unlikely player's get involved on the offensive end, as defender Isabel Baylor scored a pair of goals, and defender Emily Johnson splashed in her first career tally. Overall, Wooster outshot Waynesburg 36-5 and turned the ball over just six times in the contest.

Perhaps one of the most balanced games in Wooster history, the Scots had 11 different players score at least one goal, and 12 players recorded a point. Eileen Barrer led the way with three goals and two assists, while freshman Eliza Perry also registered a hat trick (3 goals, 1 assist) with the first three scores of her career.

Also scoring for Wooster were Clare Nelson-Johnson (2), Madison Carey (2), Katie Smart (2), Nina Dine (2), Megan Piemonte (1), and Emily Meyer (1).

Wooster split up its goalkeeping duties between starter Shawna Ferris and Sarah Ragosta, as they each played a half and held the opposition scoreless. Ferris made all five of the team's saves, which came on Waynesburg's five first half shots.

Next up, Wooster visits SUNY Fredonia (2-0) on Saturday at 2 p.m.
