WOOSTER, Ohio – The College of Wooster scored 10 unanswered goals within the opening 14 minutes of Tuesday's home opener and rolled to a 20-1 victory in a non-league women's lacrosse affair with the College of Mount St. at a sunny, but cold Carl Dale Field.

After Mount St. Joseph (1-6) won the opening draw and took a couple of shots to no avail, it was all Wooster (3-3). The Scots' Eileen Barrer started the scoring onslaught with an unassisted tally  less than two minutes in, and she added another less than 90 seconds later. Barrer's goals were sandwiched around one courtesy of Cassie Greenbaum.

Shortly thereafter, Wooster's Jaqueline Wallat and Madison Carey scored just 25 seconds apart for a 5-0 lead. Nina Dine accounted for the next two, followed by Alison Schlothauer, Wallat, and Carey, resulting in a double-digit cushion, still with 16:02 remaining in the first half.

Wooster cruised from there against the overmatched Lions, who avoided the shutout when Holly Hubble netted a goal at the 17:26 mark of the second half.

Ten different Scots scored goals, including four on five shots from Carey and three apiece by Barrer, Dine, and Eliza Perry.

Wooster continues its three-game, five-day homestand against Trine University (2-2) on Thursday at 5 p.m.
