Women's Lax to Raise Autism Awareness This Weekend

The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team is partnering up with Lacrosse for Autism to raise awareness about autism, and will be accepting donations to help those affected by the disorder during this weekend's home games.

Lacrosse for Autism was started in 2007 by the parents of a child with autism, and its goal is to hold events that bring autism awareness to the lacrosse community. This particular disorder hits home with Wooster's women's lacrosse team, as a few members have family members who are on the autism spectrum, so they have chosen to show their support this weekend.

Those attending the games will be able to purchase T-shirts ($10) and make donations, with the proceeds going to help children with autism.

Keep an eye on the players' attire, as they will be wearing special warm-up T-shirts as well as socks with blue stripes, which is the color that represents support for autism. The Scots have also posted flyers around campus with facts about the disorder, and will have some of that information shared with the crowd during halftime and timeouts.

Wooster will play Wittenberg University on Saturday at 2 p.m., and Carthage College on Sunday at 2 p.m.
