The College of Wooster raced ahead to a 7-0 lead and never looked back, as 11 of 16 Fighting Scots that took the field scored a goal in a dominant 19-3 victory over Carthage College on Saturday afternoon in a neutral-site match-up at Sewanee, Tenn.

There was little doubt about the game's outcome, as the Scots (1-1) constructed a seven-goal cushion just 11:32 in the action. Six different players chipped in a goal during that opening run, including two by Ashley Parry that both came on assists from Shelby Stone.

Carthage (2-1) eventually got on the scoreboard midway through the first half to cut its deficit to 7-1, but then Wooster scored six straight heading into the break. Newcomers Helena Enders and Michaela Lawrence both netted their first career goals during that stretch, which helped put the game out of reach.

The action slowed down a bit in the second half, but not for Enders, as she added another three goals to her breakout day, while fellow first-year Mariel Ward also tallied her initial collegiate goal.

Overall, Enders paced the offense with four goals, while Ellie Hudson-Heck, Parry, Molly Sennett, Stone, and Heather Szymanski added two apiece.

Also noteworthy, Hudson-Heck won five of Wooster's 16 draw controls, while Lawrence scooped up a team-high five groundballs and caused a turnover in a strong defensive effort. Goalkeeper Isabel Perman made three saves.

Wooster will continue its spring break trip when it battles The University of the South (2-0) on Monday at 6 p.m.
