WOOSTER, Ohio – A 6-0 run covering the end of the first half through the beginning of the second, including three goals in just 44 seconds, put The College of Wooster comfortably in front at 13-5 and the Fighting Scots went on to a 20-11 triumph over DePauw University on Andrew Turf Field inside John P. Papp Stadium Saturday.

Wooster (8-2, 3-0 North Coast Athletic Conference), now riding a seven-game winning streak, was ahead 7-5 late in the first when Haylie Honn, who was making her first career start in goal, came up with a tough save and quickly cleared the ball. The Scots turned the transition opportunity into a score, with Ellie Hudson-Heck threading a pass through the defense to Ashley Parry, who finished, for a three-goal advantage.

Carrying that momentum through halftime, Wooster opened up the second by scoring three times within two minutes. Shelby Stone netted two goals 34 seconds apart, and after Molly Sennett won the ensuing draw control, Jamie Wren-Jarvis quickly added another for an 11-5 cushion.

Stone and Hudson-Heck each tacked on a goal before DePauw (5-5, 1-2 NCAC) finally halted the run.

Both offenses continued to score at a very high rate for the remainder of the game, however, the Tigers never pulled any closer than a six-goal margin.

Stone finished with a career-high nine points coming on five goals and four assists. The senior standout's previous best was an eight-point effort (3 goals, 5 assists) during her third collegiate game.

Hudson-Heck put up a similar line of five goals and two assists, and she also corralled a game-high six draw controls.

Abby Szlachta recorded a hat trick, with all three goals in the game's opening 20 minutes, and others with multiple-point outings were Michaela Lawrence (1 goal, 1 assist), Parry (1 goal, 2 assists), Sennett (1 goal, 1 assist), and Wren-Jarvis (1 goal, 1 assist).

The Scots will face their biggest NCAC test to date on Wednesday night when preseason favorite Denison University (4-5, 1-1 NCAC) visits Papp Stadium at 7 p.m.
