The College of Wooster kept the good times rolling on Tuesday evening, as the Fighting Scots pulled away late to turn a relatively close game into a decisive 18-13 victory, their 10th in a row, in a North Coast Athletic Conference match-up with Allegheny College at Frank B. Fuhrer Field in Meadville, Pa.

The Scots (11-2, 6-0 NCAC) never trailed the Gators (5-8, 2-3 NCAC), but it was a closely-contested game, especially in the first half, when they led by just one, 7-6, with under a minute to go.

That's when Shelby Stone gave Wooster a little more breathing room, as she scored for the fifth time this season with less than a minute to play in a half, to make it a two-goal game (8-6) at the break.

The positive momentum carried over into the second stanza, as Ellie Hudson-Heck and Stone both netted goals during the initial 2:09 to push the Scots' lead to four, 10-6.

Later, another Stone goal made it a seemingly comfortable five-point spread (14-9), but Allegheny drew within three at 15-12 with under seven minutes to go in regulation.

Wooster then put the game out of reach, as it closed on a 3-1 scoring run, which included yet another last-minute tally from Stone with just two ticks on the clock.

Overall, Stone tied a career-high with nine points coming on six goals and three assists, while Hudson-Heck (4 goals, 1 assist) and Jamie Wren-Jarvis (3 goals, 1 assist) also did some heavy lifting on the offensive end. It marked the first career hat trick for Wren-Jarvis.

The Scots held a narrow 17-16 edge over the Gators in draw controls, and Molly Sennett and Ashley Parry tied for the team lead in that category with four apiece. Sennett also added a team-high four groundballs, while Parry, Wynn Boehmcke, and Wren-Jarvis each chipped in three.

Next up, Wooster plays its final non-conference game of the regular season when it visits Ursuline College (2-9) on Thursday at 5 p.m.
