The College of Wooster outscored Ursuline College 8-1 during a pivotal 11-minute stretch in the second half, which gave the Fighting Scots more than enough cushion to ease past their NCAA Div. II adversary, 20-11, on Thursday evening at the Ursuline College Lacrosse Field in Pepper Pike, Ohio.

It marks the sixth time this season the red-hot Scots (12-2) have scored 20 or more points in a game, and it was their 11th win in a row.

The match-up was closely-contested early on, with Wooster holding a one-point lead, 4-3, about 10 minutes into the action. It was at that juncture the Scots began to pull away, as they scored six straight goals to push their advantage to 10-3.

Ursuline (2-10) cut its deficit to six, 11-5, at the break, and then drew as close as 12-7 early in the second half, but unbeknownst to the Arrows, Wooster was about to go on another dominant scoring run.

The Scots scored eight of the game's next nine goals, including three in a row from Abby Szlachta over a 1:50 spurt, followed by five goals from five different players – Haylie Honn, Helena Enders, Ellie Hudson-Heck, Heather Szymanski, and Michaela Lawrence – which made it 20-8 and all but sealed the outcome.

Shelby Stone was the key cog in the first half, as she scored a hat trick and passed out four assists during the game's opening 14:32. She added another helper in the second stanza to cap off an eight-point effort (3 goals, 5 assists).

Others that stood out on the offensive end were Szlachta with four goals, Molly Sennett with three goals and an assist, and Hudson-Heck with another three tallies. Also noteworthy, Haylie Honn's goal during Wooster's 8-1 run was her first of the season and third of her career.

Haylie's twin sister, Heather Honn, led the defense with four groundballs, while Sennett and Wynn Boehmcke recorded three and two caused turnovers, respectively. Goalkeeper Isabel Perman made five saves in the victory, with four coming during the second half.

Wooster will look to make it 12 in a row on Saturday, when it hosts Ohio Wesleyan University (4-10, 1-5 NCAC) in a North Coast Athletic Conference tilt at 12:45 p.m.
