The Rochester Institute of Technology capitalized on a 7-0 first-half run en route to a 19-9 win over The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team on Monday afternoon, as the Fighting Scots opened competition at Englewood, Fla. as part of the program's annual spring trip.

RIT's (2-1) Maegen Schmauder brought the Tigers ahead early, first slotting home the game's first goal within 43 seconds of the opening whistle before serving as a facilitator on the team's second tally just over 30 ticks later.

Wooster (2-1) halved the deficit at the 24:43 mark with a captain-to-captain connection, as junior Helena Enders found the back of the net off the assist from senior Heather Szymanski.

From there, RIT rattled off seven straight goals over nearly a six-minute span to take a 9-1 advantage with 17:01 remaining in the half.

Responding for Wooster again was Enders, who notched her second of the game on a solo tally to kick start a Scots' rally that saw Wooster score four of the next six goals, withering RIT's lead down to six (11-5) with just under six minutes in the half.

In addition to Enders, first-year Jenny Grossmann found the scoring column and sophomore Laura Papp tallied two during that four-goal span for the Scots before completing the first-half hat trick with 1:42 left in the half.

Of note, Enders and Papp were involved in all but one of Wooster's six first-half goals.

With the majority of the game's scoring in the first half, the Scots were unable to mount the comeback, but continuing her scoring prowess in the second half was Enders, who responded to two goals from RIT with a pair of her own. In addition, sophomore Megan Healy squared away for the Scots' final goal with just over five minutes remaining.

Of note, Enders was a perfect 4-for-4 on shot opportunities as part of a five-point performance (4 goals, 1 assist) while Papp was 3-for-4 on shot conversion. Notable, Szymanski totaled three assists on the day in addition to three draw controls, two groundballs and one caused turnover.

In the midfield, sophomore Rose Taylor recorded two draw controls and forced two caused turnovers.
