The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team opened the 2018 season with an 11-8 victory over the University of Redlands on Tuesday evening at Farquhar Field in Redlands, Calif.

Senior Helena Enders scored a team-high three goals, all coming in the second half, while junior Jordan Stone delivered a game-high three assists.

Redlands' (3-5) Sadie Pickering opened the game's scoring with a free-position conversion at the 26:15 mark before Wooster junior Megan Healy leveled the score nearly a minute later on an unassisted tally.

Tied at 3-all with just over 10 minutes remaining in the first half, the Fighting Scots (1-0) ended the opening stanza on a 3-1 run, powered by unassisted goals from junior Emma Lawrence and first-year Katie Harvey while Stone connected on her first goal of the season via a free-position attempt.

Up 6-4 after 30 minutes of play, Stone recorded the assists on each of the Scots' first two second-half goals, starting with Enders just over five minutes in before Harvey found the back of the net nearly two minutes later.

The Scots maintained at least a two-goal lead for the remainder of the game. After Redlands' Breanna Gunderson cut the deficit to 9-7 with just over eight minutes remaining, Lawrence and Enders scored respective unassisted goals to keep the lead in hand to seal the Scots' third straight season-opening win.

Junior Rose Taylor scooped up a career-high seven groundballs, as did Healy, who finished one groundball shy of her career best. Additionally, Healy grabbed six draw controls, again, one shy of her career best.

Sophomore goalkeeper Emma Hambright garnered her 12th career victory.

Up next, Wooster travels to Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (4-2) on Thursday, March 15 for a 1 p.m. EST match.
