Megan Healy scooped up a career-high 11 groundballs to pair with eight draw controls, while Emma Lawrence scored a career-best five goals, and the junior duo keyed The College of Wooster women's lacrosse teams' 20-12 win over Baldwin Wallace University on Wednesday evening at George Finnie Stadium in Berea, Ohio.

Healy's efforts on the draw helped set the tempo from the get-go as the junior came away with three of the game's first four. One of those led to Lawrence's first goal, and by game's end Healy and her Wooster (4-1) teammates combined to turn eight draw controls into goals without Baldwin Wallace (3-6) gaining possession. Five of those came in the second half, including the book ends of a game-clinching 7-1 run that had the Scots up seven at 18-11 with 5:55 remaining.

Wooster's defense led the way during the opening half as the Scots carried a slim 7-6 lead into the intermission. In the opening 30 minutes, the Scots caused six turnovers, two of which were ultimately cashed in for free-position goals by senior Helena Enders and first-year Alexa Mellis.

Mellis put the Scots up for good at 8-7 with 25:29 to go in the game with the first of Wooster's 13 second-stanza goals. The Wooster rookie upped her team-lead in scores to 15 during the aforementioned 7-1 run, and Lawrence closed within one goal of Mellis for the top spot on the squad with her 14th goal of the year at the 12:46 mark.

In all, five Scots turned in hat tricks on the night in Lawrence, Mellis (4), Enders, sophomore Jenny Grossmann, and first-year Katie Harvey.

Healy, who now has a remarkable 26 draw controls over the last three games, was backed up by Lawrence's six and Harvey's four. Lawrence and first-year Madison Bescak added three groundballs.

In goal, first-year Katie Shideler and sophomore Emma Hambright each played 30 minutes. Shideler picked up the win and finished with five saves.

Baldwin Wallace was led by Savanna Jaekle's four goals and two assists, and Megan Patrick's seven draw controls.

Next, Wooster takes on Wittenberg University (2-7, 0-1 North Coast Athletic Conference) at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Wooster High School. The game marks the Scots' league opener.
