WOOSTER, Ohio – Junior Laura Papp scored a season- and game-high four goals, and classmate Megan Healy turned in a balanced effort with eight groundballs, six draw controls, and five caused turnovers during The College of Wooster's 20-2 North Coast Athletic Conference win over visiting Hiram College on Tuesday evening at John P. Papp Stadium.

Papp started Wooster's (7-3, 3-2 NCAC) "stats in pairs" theme off for the night with two tallies in the opening two minutes of the contest. For the game, seven Fighting Scots scored multiple goals, three of whom logged back-to-back tallies in the scoring column on the night.

Healy factored heavily into the Scots' first two scoring chances with a pair of caused turnovers and groundballs on Wooster's defensive possessions immediately preceding Papp's contributions on the offensive end.

First-year Alexa Mellis took charge in the scoring column with Wooster's third and fourth goals of the night, the second of which marked the rookie's team-leading 24th of the season. Papp and sophomore Jenny Grossmann had the Scots up 6-0 before Hiram's (6-7, 0-5 NCAC) Alyse Gillentine put the Terriers on the board at the 23:05 mark.

Wooster closed out the half with a 7-0 run that featured six Scots chipping in offensively, including first-year Caitlyn O'Connor who scored her two goals of the night in the opening 30 minutes of play.

The Scots capped the game with a 7-0 run, headlined by first-year Cassie Buzzelli etching her name into the scoring column with 13:11 to go, and following that up with a goal just over 1:30 later.

Healy's eight groundballs marked the fourth time this season the midfielder's tallied up at least seven. The junior's haul upped her season total to 51, a mark tied for the seventh-most in a single season in program history. Additionally, Healy's now at 58 draw controls in 10 games, and that's also the seventh-best mark in the single-season program annals.

Other key contributiors included senior Michaela Lawrence, who turned in an active night on both ends of the field, thanks to three assists, three groundballs, three draw controls, and two caused turnovers.

First-year Katie Shideler picked up her sixth win of the year in goal. Shideler and sophomore Emma Hambright posted identical stat lines of five saves and one goal allowed in 30 minutes of work. Noteworthy, the two goals allowed by the Scots marked the fewest since the 2015 season.

Gillentine scored both of the Terriers goals.

Wooster has a quick turnaround as Ohio Northern University (6-6) visits John P. Papp Stadium on Wednesday, April 18. Opening draw is set for 7:10 p.m.
