WOOSTER, Ohio – The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team took a big step towards securing its North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament bid with a 19-14 win over Allegheny College on Wednesday night at John P. Papp Stadium.

The Fighting Scots (10-3, 5-2 NCAC) outscored the Gators (8-7, 4-3 NCAC) 10-6 in the first half and remained level with an 8-8 scoreline in the second. Senior Helena Enders scored three times to become the 23rd student-athlete in program history with 100-plus career goals, while junior Laura Papp delivered four goals on four shots to go with two assists for a team-high six points.

Senior Helena Enders became the 23rd player in program history to reach 100 career goals during Wooster's 19-14 win over Allegheny College on Wednesday.

Junior Emma Lawrence got things rolling for Wooster with two straight free-position goals to give the home side a 2-1 lead nearly four minutes in. From there, the Scots posted a 4-1 run with lone goals from senior Michaela Lawrence and Papp to go along with a brace from first-year Alexa Mellis, who leads the team with 30 goals on the year.

Wooster weathered a quick 3-2 Gators' run and finished on a 3-1 streak of their own, capped off by Enders' 99th career goal with 37 seconds remaining in the half.

Leading 11-6 after 30 minutes, both teams went pound-for-pound as Wooster staved off a 3-1 opening run from the Gators, which saw them reach with three, with a pair of tallies from Papp and Emma Lawrence to go back up 14-9 with 23:42 left to play.

The Gators turned things on late with four straight goals but ultimately ran out of time as the Scots took sole possession of third place in the conference with one regular-season game remaining.

Both of Wooster's senior showed up in a big way on "Senior Night," as both Enders and Michaela Lawrence – who hail from the same high school in Portland, Ore. – totaled three goals and one assist each. Junior Megan Healy totaled a career-high 11 draw controls and a game-high five caused turnovers and Michaela Lawrence finished with a game-high six groundballs.
