Junior Megan Healy broke her second College of Wooster women's lacrosse single-season record in as many games, and the Fighting Scots closed out a successful regular-season with an 18-7 win over host Ohio Wesleyan University at Selby Stadium in Delaware, Ohio on Saturday.

Wooster (11-3, 6-2 North Coast Athletic Conference) will be the No. 3 seed for next week's NCAC Tournament, and will travel to second-seeded Oberlin College (10-5, 6-2 NCAC) for Wednesday's semifinal game. Opening draw is set for 6 p.m.

Healy, who became the first Scot since 2002 to surpass 60 groundballs in a season earlier this week, upped her season total to 67, and in doing so, moved past Jessica Bacon's mark of 65 set in 2002 for the most in program history.

While Healy stole the headlines with her record-setting performance, Wooster's 6-1 run over the final 10:26 of the first half and first-year Katie Shideler's play in goal over the final 30 minutes ultimately proved to be two of the biggest keys in the win.

First-year Katie Harvey's unassisted tally gave the Scots a two-goal cushion at 5-3, and Wooster rolled in nearly every facet of the game over the final 10 minutes and change in the first half. Senior Michaela Lawrence pumped in her 20th goal of the season less than 30 ticks later, and sophomore Jenny Grossmann accounted for two of Wooster's remaining four goals in the half. The Scots took a 10-4 lead into the locker room.

Earlier in the opening stanza, first-year Alexa Mellis put the Scots on top for good with her team-leading 31st goal of the season at the 15:26 mark. Later, Mellis upped the lead to nine at 15-6 with the first of three straight second-half free-position goals scored by the Scots.

Shideler, who recorded a season-high 14 saves in the winning effort, turned aside eight shots over the final 30 minutes, three of which came on a series of Ohio Wesleyan (6-10, 2-6 NCAC) free-position shots within a three-minute span.

Prior to Wooster extending its lead to double-digits, Shideler had another key stretch with four saves within a two-minute span.

Michaela Lawrence and first-year Sydney Schuster led the way offensively with hat tricks, while in total, seven Scots logged multi-goal games.

Healy wrapped up the regular season with six draw controls, four groundballs, and four caused turnovers. The junior was backed up defensively by classmate Laura Papp who caused a trio of Ohio Wesleyan miscues.

Sloane Baumgartner led the Battling Bishops with three goals and an assist.
