Liz Ford will be inducted to the Ohio Lacrosse Hall of Fame on June 12.

Liz Ford, who just completed year 16 heading The College of Wooster's successful women's lacrosse program, is among the Ohio Lacrosse Hall of Fame Class of 2021 inductees. Ford's induction is set for June 12, 2021 at the Ohio Union on the campus of Ohio State University.

Wooster's won over 70 percent of its games (171-71-1; .706) with Ford at the helm of the program, and she's maintained the Fighting Scots' reputation as one of the best NCAA Div. III West, Mid-South, and now Great Lakes Region women's lacrosse programs of the 2000s. Highlighting Ford's tenure are North Coast Athletic Conference titles in 2007, 2009, and 2010, marking their fourth, fifth, and sixth over a 10-year period, and with them, the team received berths into the NCAA Div. III Championships. Ford's teams, which have seven other NCAC runner-up finishes, have reached double-digit win totals 12 times, including 11-3 in 2006, 12-5 in 2007, 10-6 in 2008, 12-4 in 2009, 12-4 in 2010, 12-5-1 in 2012, 13-5 in 2013, 13-4 in 2015, 11-6 in 2016, 11-5 in 2017, 12-4 in 2018, and 16-2 in 2019. For her efforts, Ford was the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association West Region Coach of the Year in 2009, the 2007 NCAC co-Coach of the Year, and the 2018 and 2019 NCAC Coach of the Year.

In 2021, Ford's squad advanced to the championship game of the NCAC Tournament for the 14th time in program history and third consecutive time. Six of Ford's players earned all-conference laurels this past spring, including senior Katie Shideler, who was the NCAC Defensive Player of the Year.

Outside of Wooster, Ford gained international coaching experience in 2011, as she headed the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) under-19 team at the Women's Lacrosse World Championship in Germany. She also spent five seasons as the head girls' lacrosse coach at Wooster High School. There, she helped the Generals to winning records in four of five seasons, including an 11-3-2 mark in 2002, when the team reached the final 16 at the Ohio State Lacrosse Association Tournament.

The Ohio Lacrosse Hall of Fame induction banquet runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 12. It's open to the public, but tickets must be purchased in advance and are $50. Learn more about the Ohio Lacrosse Hall of Fame and purchase tickets at https://ohlaxhof.com.
