Haul of Draws Nets Shaw NCAC Weekly Honor

Hannah Shaw, College of Wooster lacrosse The College of Wooster's Hannah Shaw tracked down 15 draw controls during the women's lacrosse team's 18-7 win over Indiana Institute of Technology on Saturday, and on Monday, the North Coast Athletic Conference selected the junior midfielder as its Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week.

Shaw's total from Saturday is believed to be Wooster's single-game program record, as it is the highest single-game total for games individual tallies are available for since draw controls became a NCAA-tracked statistic. At the time of the game, Shaw's 15 draw controls were the third-most in a Div. III game this spring, and entering this week, she is eighth nationally with 10.7 draw controls per game.

For the week, Shaw had 23 draw controls and five goals while helping Wooster post a 2-0 record. The Scots' other win came on Wednesday night against Otterbein University. Shaw collected eight draw controls in the 22-15 victory.

Next, Wooster (2-0) hosts Saint Vincent College (1-0) at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9.
