Scots, Spartans Battle to Scoreless Tie

The College of Wooster women's soccer team pushed its longest unbeaten streak to start a season to 11 matches via a 0-0 deadlock at Case Western Reserve University on Tuesday night in Cleveland. For the Fighting Scots, it marked the end of their non-conference slate, finishing with an 8-0-3 record.

The two teams were not only even on the scoreboard, but nearly identical in the final statistics. Case Western Reserve (4-3-2) held a slight advantage in shots of 7-6 and corner kicks of 4-2.

Individually, each goalie – Michele Ring of Wooster and Anna Kennedy of the Spartans – was credited with two saves.

Wooster makes its 2009 North Coast Athletic Conference debut late Saturday afternoon at Wittenberg University (5-1-3, 0-0-0 NCAC). It will mark a rematch of last fall's NCAC Tournament championship game, which Wittenberg won 1-0 in double overtime.
