Scots’ Late Charge Falls Short Against Earlham

Despite outshooting Earlham College by a 12-10 count, The College of Wooster women's soccer team walked away from a wet Carl Dale Memorial Field Saturday afternoon on the short side of a 3-1 decision in a North Coast Athletic Conference contest.

Trailing 3-0, Wooster (8-2-4, 0-2-1 NCAC) made a late push, first converting on a corner kick during the 82nd minute. Chantal Koechli sent the corner into the box, where Liz Mott headed it over to the right and Lida Bilokur delivered it past the 'keeper to pull the Fighting Scots within two. It marked the sophomore's first collegiate goal.

Wooster continued to pressure Earlham (9-3, 2-0 NCAC), firing off three shots over the last 8:51, including a couple of high-quality looks by Kelsey Peters and Koechli, but the Quakers' Megan Holthaus was there for the save each time.

Earlham built its lead with scores by Karman Duchon, Rachel Dana, and Faye Rowell in the 29th, 43rd, and 51st minutes, respectively.

The Scots have a week to prepare for their next game, as they'll be at Ohio Wesleyan University (5-6-2, 1-2-0 NCAC) a week from now.
