Mott Stuns Misericordia Early as Wooster Cruises to 3-0 Win

WOOSTER, Ohio – Junior Liz Mott scored less than three minutes into the game, and then added another, to lead The College of Wooster women's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Misericordia University in the rain on Saturday at Carl Dale Field.

Mott, who now leads the Fighting Scots (8-0-2) with six goals this season, blasted in a shot on a Lida Bilokur assist at the 2:40 mark that lit the scoreboard early. Just six minutes later, Bri Fulmer would strike a well-placed corner kick to an awaiting Mott, who drilled a header into the net and gave Wooster the cushion needed to notch the win. The Scots have now started the season with a 10-game unbeaten streak, the longest such streak in the program's history.

Sophomore Maggie Kehm would give Wooster a 3-0 lead in the game 54th minute when Nora Simon located her near the goal, and Kehm lobbed a high arching shot over the goalkeeper's outstretched arms that graced just under the crossbar and into the net. The Scots controlled the ball throughout the entire match, and out shot the Cougars 13-5, while more than tripling their corner kick attempts (10-3).

Wooster will look to remain unbeaten when they travel to Cleveland, Ohio on Tuesday to battle Case Western Reserve University at 7:30 p.m.
