In a battle of regionally-ranked teams, Case Western Reserve University, No. 5 in this week's NCAA Div. III Great Lakes coaches' poll, edged The College of Wooster, No. 6 in that same poll, on a single score that did not come until double overtime on a hot and humid Tuesday night in Cleveland, Ohio.

The two appeared to be headed towards a tie, but Case Western Reserve (3-1) made good on its fourth corner kick of the match. During the 106th minute, Leah Levey delivered the corner into the box, where it was deflected around and eventually tapped in by Jessie Sabers.

While there were just 17 combined shots during the contest, both teams had their chances. In the 13th minute, Elizabeth Clark, freshman goalkeeper for Wooster (4-1), made a diving stop, her first of five saves of the night.

Midway through the second half, the Fighting Scots' Kelsey Clark pulled a shot just wide, and during the first overtime, Crystal Chavez forced the Spartans' goalie into a save.

On Saturday afternoon, Wooster will play host to Wilmington College (2-1-1) at 2 p.m.
