The College of Wooster was three minutes away from securing a North Coast Athletic Conference women's soccer victory on Tuesday night only to see Hiram College score late, then the two teams remained deadlocked the rest of the way for a 1-1 tie at Charles A. Henry Field in Hiram, Ohio.

After a scoreless first half that saw Wooster (7-5-2, 2-1-1 NCAC) outshoot Hiram (8-4-1, 1-2-1 NCAC) by a 3-1 count, the Fighting Scots lit the scoreboard early in the second, courtesy of an unassisted Kennedy Payne goal. It marked the freshman's team-leading fifth tally this season.

The Terriers rallied to tie on Kelsey Martin's rebound goal with 2:58 left in regulation, and Wooster nearly responded as a Katherine Tuttle attempt during the 89th minute needed to be saved in order to extend the game.

Payne and Tuttle combined for the first two shots of overtime, both going wide left, and the Scots also had a corner kick during that stretch, but they ultimately settled for the draw.

In goal for Wooster, Elizabeth Clark was credited with four saves, including one in the first extra session, to help preserve the tie.

On Saturday afternoon, the Scots will be at Denison University (6-6-1, 2-1-1 NCAC).
