The College of Wooster and Denison University went the distance, but came away without a winner, as two programs squarely in the hunt for a North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament berth settled for a scoreless tie in double overtime Saturday afternoon at Granville, Ohio.

The Fighting Scots (7-5-3, 2-1-2 NCAC) came close to putting points on the scoreboard late in the second half, with their best opportunity coming off the foot of Katherine Tuttle in the 76th-minute, but the goalkeeper made a leaping, one-handed save to push the ball over the crossbar.

Then over the next two minutes, the Scots earned four consecutive corner kicks, but none produced a goal, and eventually the game went to overtime.

Kyrsten Kamlowsky put a shot on the net in the first overtime period that was saved by the 'keeper, and then in the second extra session, both Crystal Chavez and Kennedy Payne fired off shot attempts that sailed wide of the goal.

The Scots got a boost from goalkeeper Carly Eppler, who was making her first appearance in a collegiate game, as the freshman drew the start and recorded nine saves – the highest single-game total for a Wooster goalkeeper this season.

Next, the Scots host Oberlin College (4-10, 0-4 NCAC) on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
