It was an uncharacteristic day for The College of Wooster's women's soccer team, as the Fighting Scots were upended 3-1 by Wilmington College on Sunday in a non-conference match-up at Wilmington, Ohio.

The Scots (4-2) had not allowed three or more goals in 32 straight games entering this afternoon, but the Fightin' Quakers (3-3) ended that impressive run, along with Wooster's three-game win streak.

Katherine Tuttle, the reigning North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week, kept her strong start to the season going by scoring her fifth goal to put Wooster ahead 1-0 at the 29:38 mark. Carly Joliat was credited with an assist on the play.

Wooster's advantage was short lived, as Wilmington scored two goals over the next 5:09 to take a 2-1 lead it did not relinquish. The Quakers added some late insurance, with a third goal in the closing minutes of the second half, which created their 3-1 victory margin.

The game was much closer than the scoreboard indicates, as Wooster outshot Wilmington 11-10, with each team putting six on goal.

Next up, the Scots host Washington & Jefferson College (0-3) on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
