The College of Wooster women's soccer team showcased its balanced offense Saturday afternoon, as five different players scored during the Fighting Scots' 5-0 shutout of home-standing Geneva College in non-conference action at Beaver Falls, Pa.

Jessica Friesen started the offensive barrage for Wooster (6-2) when she converted a cross from fellow senior Sophia Garfinkel in the 14th minute. It was Friesen's second goal this year.

Later, the Scots gained a decisive 3-0 lead with a couple of tallies during the last 15 minutes of the first half. Sophomore Kennedy Payne took advantage of a one-on-one opportunity with the goalkeeper for her initial score of the season, then junior Carly Joliat delivered a corner kick into the box where senior Kimberly Seidell delivered a high shot off the crossbar and in. For Seidell, primarily a defender throughout her career, it marked her first career goal.

Exactly five minutes into the second half, Wooster's top scorer, Katherine Tuttle, got into the act with an unassisted goal, taking the shot from outside the box and into the upper 90. Tuttle now has six goals already this year.

Rounding out the scoring was Jennifer Latsko with her first collegiate goal, assisted by another first-year, Lissette Torres.

None of the five scorers on Saturday connected on goals during Wednesday's 2-1 victory, meaning that the team's last seven goals have all come from different players.

Wooster takes its balanced attack and two-game win streak to northeast Ohio foe John Carroll University (4-2) on Tuesday night.
