2014 NSCAA/Continental Tire All-Great Lakes Region Team

College of Wooster junior Lauren Hancher was named to the 2014 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire All-Great Lakes Region Third Team, the organization announced Wednesday, marking the standout midfielder's first time reaching all-region status.

Hancher was voted to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference First Team back on Nov. 19, and now picks up an even bigger honor, as she has been recognized as one of the top 38 players, and 13 midfielders, in the Great Lakes Region.

Already an excellent defender and ball winner, Hancher became an offensive force this season as well from the center midfield position. She tied for the team-lead with a career-high six goals, including three over the team's last six games, and added two assists as part of a 14-point season.

Hancher, a three-time all-conference pick in soccer, is currently in action with the women's basketball team – where she also received all-conference (second-team) laurels a season ago. For more on Wooster's two-sport standout, check out the feature video below.
