Joliat Tabbed as NCAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week

 Carly Joliat

Senior defender Carly Joliat of The College of Wooster was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

Joliat helped the Fighting Scots post a 2-0 record last week, highlighted by the team's ninth and 10th shutouts of the year. Joliat contributed in both matches on the offensive end as well.

On Tuesday, Joliat scored on a free kick to give Wooster a 2-0 first-half advantage against Marietta College. On Saturday, she delivered a well-placed cross that Kennedy Payne headed in for a 2-0 cushion in the 68th minute against Oberlin College.

Entering this week, the Scots rank third in NCAA Div. III in shutout percentage (.833) and 18th in goals against average (0.33). They also remained fifth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Great Lakes Region poll.

Wooster returns to action Saturday with a 12:30 p.m. home match against Kenyon College (7-5, 1-1 NCAC).
